My local Home Depot had a natural gas, ventless heater for garages on clearance. Originally $269.00 marked down to $67.25. It's 20,000 btu's and the box sez it will heat 700 sq. ft. It's the radiant type.
I figure it's a good deal. Anyone have any advice, stories, etc. I'm going to use it to heat the garage when I'm out there. I don't want to keep the cars warm.

Sounds like a good deal to me as well. But whether it will heat your shop depends on the size, whether it is insulated, where you live, etc.
I have a 30x50 uninsulated garage with 12' ceilings, and am installing a 80k btu hanging forced air furnace.
Did you get it, and does it work for you?

I have portable heaters in my garage I would onlyuse it when you are present to heat an immediate area. Garages in general are not that weather/temperature tight and its difficult to warm the whole place on the continual basis using that method.
