View Full Version : My Garage Picture
I need a few more pictures and the 1963 to park under the lift. Other than that, it's complete.

Another Corvette shrine! You did an excellent job on your garage.
Please tell us about your lift (brand, type, etc..).

Also, please post more pictures when you have a chance.
We'd like to see the '63, even if it isn't finished yet!
Thanks!
The lift is a Stinger. It's about 5 years old.

You can see pre-restored photos of the 1963 at the following link:

The car today has primer on it and I don't have any digital photos. The paint shop is about 50 miles from home. I'm hoping to have it back in July.

Say what's the floor coating? Looks very nice.
Kipp
The floor coating was done by a local person in Omaha.
It's basically 3 uerethane coats. I believe he gets his products from Dupont.
His process is:
- pressure wash the garage, let dry (day one)
- apply gray base coat, let dry (day two)
- apply gray second coat, spread fleck, let dry (day three)
- apply clear top coat (day four), wait three days before driving on it
The fleck I chose is bright red and white.
The floor is noticed by everyone first as they walk in the garage, not the cars. :)

Thanks - those are great pictures. Did you apply the clearcoat over the C5 logo?
The difference on the C5 logo from the rest of the garage:
- area was taped off after the first (base) coat
- the second coat was colored white (not gray), painted by a smaller roller
- there was no fleck or grit put in the area
- a stencil was created and taped on to white area
- the black was applied first over the stencil, then red
- a brush was used to correct any "bleeding" from one color to another
- the final top layer of uerethane was applied after drying
What's so cool about the whole garage floor is that nothing automotive (oil, grease, anti-freeze) or weather realted (ice/snow/gravel mixed with ash, salt, etc) wipes right off. A quick wet mop and the clean shine is back.

I like the idea of the C5 logo. Did you make the stencil yourself or is that something you bought?
The person who coated the garage had the stencil made locally.
I don't know by whom.
I gave the GIF file to the person who passed it on.
