Well the excavation and forms went in yesterday, the concrete should be poured today. This will be an 18x28 foot addition to my 28x28 foot two story garage. The new peice will be a single bay two story tall auto bay for my car projects. I'm currently redoing a 78 corvette. The new bay will have a two post lift, my metal working machinery, cabinets, sandblaster, compressor, etc. Once the pad is in, I'll do all the construction work myself. I'll start posting some pictures of the build as it progresses. In case you can't tell, I'm pretty excited :)

Congrats on the garage addition. I'd be pretty excited with a project like that also. Looking forward to the construction pics.

Kipp,

Any construction pictures yet?

I'm sure I'm not the only one looking forward to seeing your progress!

I have pictures, just no time to post yet. I'm doing the entire job myself. I have the 16' walls up, the trusses and roof on. I just finished the shingles yesterday. I need to sheet in 2 more walls before I can start the garage interior.

Wow, that is a ton of work to be doing yourself.

Make sure to take plenty of pictures as you go, and keep up the good work.

Well the outside walls are sheeted, the tyvek is applied, the windows are in and the doors are installed. I've got to put up vinyl siding, get the driveway paved, and start the interior.. For now it's weather proof.

I'm thinking of using VCT for this bay, 28' x 18'. I'll probably do the checkerboard pattern. I hope it will hold up to engine cranes, engine stands, floor jacks, etc.

I'm going to order a clear floor adapter for my 2 post lift. It's a pain getting the tranny jack over the hump in the floor when it has a tranny on it!

I'm thinking that I need to put the insulation and sheetrock in before the tile, but I really itching to get some work done on my cars. So I was thinking of putting the lift and tile in first. Any thoughts on this?
