Here are some photos of my recent Racedeck installation. It took about 3 hours to do the entire floor.

Thanks - the floor was a birthday present to myself.

I still need to move the cabinets in the back of the garage so I can place the tiles all the way to the back wall.

I'll end up with partial tiles along the back (underneath the cabinets), but they cut easily with a hand saw.

Hey GF,
How well does the Race Deck do on a concrete floor that is not very level ? I have a problem slab in my new garage, and I'm wondering if there is anything that can be done for it other than just leaveing it bare concrete ? Thank's,

Steve.

Steve,

I imagine that you could run Racedeck over a bit of an uneven surface, but I wouldn't want to run it over too much of a hump, because that might cause the seams between the tiles to open up a bit.

Can you use a floor jack on these? What about rolling engine stands, shop cranes etc? What happens to spills?

Thanks,
Kipp

I think a floor jack would leave a dent in the tiles. I've heard of some folks using an extra tile under jackstands or floor jacks in order to avoid this from happening.

As far as spills are concerned, they just wipe right up. If you were to have a larger spill, some fluid might leak down under the tiles, but the tiles do fit tightly together so I'm not sure how much would actually get under the tiles.

The tiles can be lifted up to clean up water underneath if you start from an edge. I had to do this the other day when I hosed down my driveway and splashed water under the front edge pieces of my floor.

I like the Race Deck but the dang price.........Menard's has started selling just gray ones, so I guess it's just a matter of time before the price starts to drop. Competition always helps.

The Racedeck wasn't cheap, but I love it and it's real easy to keep clean. I sweep it every other day or so and the dirt doesn't stick to it.

What did you do about the edge where it meets the garage door? Do you have any pics of that area completed?

The edge pieces are black and are about 3 inches long and 12 inches wide. They snap right onto the tiles and create a nice beveled edge. (The tiles themselves are 1/2 inch high)

I don't have any photos, but I plan to take some this weekend.

Was the garage perfectly square or did you have to trim some of the squares along the walls?

I love the look of Race Deck but I wash cars in my garage and the water will get under the floor and either freeze or slowly destroy the floor.

As for the cost I have a good commercial source that takes some of cost issues out of the equation.
